Suspension of Jury Trials Extended

In an updated Notice to the Profession and Public issued yesterday, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice advised that the suspension of jury trials is extended until at least May 3, 2021. Jury trials that are in progress may continue subject to the discretion of the trial judge.

Further, the Notice states that non-jury matters should proceed virtually unless it is absolutely necessary to hold the proceedings in-person.
