Changes to Confirming Motions/Applications and Obtaining Certification Forms in Toronto
The Consolidated Practice Direction for Toronto was amended effective November 4, 2021.
One of the changes is that motion/application confirmation forms must include either the Justice Services Online filing confirmation number, or verification that the court documents were filed in hard copy at the court office.
The second change is that the trial coordinator’s office will no longer send out the Certification Form to Set Pre-Trial and Trial Dates. The form is available in the preceding link and on the Superior Court of Justice website. Whoever set the action down for trial must be complete the form in consultation with the other parties and email it to the Civil Trial Office within six months of filing the trial record. If the form is not submitted within this timeframe, the action will be struck from the trial list.
