About

Meryl articled with the firm before returning as an associate in 2015. Her practice in civil litigation focuses on insurance defence matters, particularly in the areas of motor vehicle negligence, property damage and occupiers’ liability.

Meryl completed law school at Queen’s University, where she also obtained a Certificate in Public International Law. She was also involved with the Queen’s Law Journal, Queen’s Legal Aid and Pro Bono Students Canada.

Prior to law school, she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science at McMaster University.

Meryl has written on matters such as the collateral benefits/tort interface and the duty of care analysis in negligence law. Her papers and articles have appeared in publications by The Advocates’ Society, the Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association, and the Law Society of Ontario.

She has appeared as counsel before the Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal.
