Update on Jury Trials

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice issued a new Notice to the Profession and Public last week. The suspension of jury trials has been extended until at least January 29, 2021 in all areas of the province except Green Zones.

In areas that are not Green Zones, jury trials will recommence on February 1, 2021 at the earliest. In Green Zones, jury trials will recommence on January 4, 2021 at the earliest.

Chief Justice Morawetz continues to encourage virtual proceedings in all regions wherever possible.
